What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market. Profhilo is an incredibly effective remodelling injectable for smoothing and tightening the skin.

How does Profhilo work?
After injection Profhilo stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin. The simulation results in significant tissue improvement and provides deep long-lasting hydration giving the skin a glowing natural look.

Is Profhilo safe to use?
Profhilo is composed of a highly pure grade hyaluronic acid and with the absence of any additives, it is extremely bio-compatible offering an excellent safety profile and very low risk of side effects. Profhilo was first launched in February 2015 and has been used extensively worldwide since then with a very low incidence of side effects and no major adverse events.

What areas can be treated?
Face, neck, decollete, arms, hands and knees, tummy or any part of your body where the skin shows visible signs of ageing.

How is the procedure administered?
There is only minimal discomfort during a Profhilo treatment as the product is injected very slowly into the lower layers of the skin and as it diffuses into the surrounding areas, there are just a small amount of injection points. It is generally more comfortable than a standard dermal filler treatment. It is basically administered via injection with a tiny needle in specific points just under the skin.

How long do the results last?

How many sessions are required?
1 treatment consists of 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. Repeat the treatment after 6 months, to maintain the results.

Who is NOT suitable for this treatment?
Patients with bleeding disorders or a compromised immune system due to, for example, infectious diseases, cancer, HIV, diabetes or pregnancy..

Is there any downtime?
Some people may experience redness, slight bruising, tenderness as well as itching at the injection sites but these are temporary and should resolve within a few hours to a day.
