IPL Vs Laser Hair Removal
The technology and results that we have seen whilst using the Soprano machine on so many satisfied clients, has made us passionate about laser treatments due to Soprano delivering on what it promises, permanent hair reduction.

How long before I see results?
Generally after 10 days to 2 weeks from your first session you start seeing a difference in the hair growth. Most of the hairs will fall out and re-grows finer.

IPL Vs Laser Hair Removal
One of the most common questions asked in our consultations is what is the difference between IPL and laser?

Laser
The laser produces a wavelength of energy that targets the melanin of the hair bulb, the hair bulb is destroyed which results in hair reduction. The heat from the energy produced only targets the root so the skin is not affected. Which means there is less chance of burning.

IPL

IPL is not a laser, IPL is intense pulsed light. Unlike laser which is a direct concentration of energy, IPL is a broad spectrum of wavelengths. It cannot be as concentrated as the laser, therefore the IPL wavelength varies and distributes and does not put the same amount of focused energy on the hair follicle as a laser, which affects the results of hair reduction. IPL does not treat as deep as laser, So thick, dark corse hairs don’t get treated as successfully as they do with the laser.

How does Pain-Free, Hair Free work?

Using carefully controlled pulses of laser light, the SopranoXL Diode Laser System’s proprietary IN-Motion ™ technology selectively and gradually heats the hair in the follicles within the dermal layer of the skin. The laser slows the growing capacity of follicles in the growth cycle at the time of the treatment. Since some hair follicles may enter their growth cycle after your treatment, multiple treatments may be required to deliver optimal results.

Can all hair and skin types be treated?

It is the pigment in the hairs themselves that convert the laser energy into the heat necessary for permanent hair reduction. The darker the hair the more effective the treatment will be.
Yes, Pain-Free, Hair-Free works on all skin types, including tanned skin. To ensure the safety of darker-skinned patients, laser energy may be reduced.

Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

No! Our advanced machines have minimal discomfort as the lasers release the energy slowly and build up heat comfortably, as opposed to old lasers that shoot out energy in one hit. No numbing cream required, you can just lie back and relax.

How long does the treatment take?

The length of time needed depends on the size of the area being treated. For instance, the upper lip will only take minutes, while other areas, like the leg will take more time.

How many treatments will I need?

We suggest having 6 sessions but top ups are needed after. This depends on person to person.

Are there any risks?

Occasionally blisters can develop and very rarely, scarring or infection.

What do I need to do before my treatment?

Tanning should be avoided for 4 weeks before attending your laser session. Also you need to be shaving the area for a 4-6weeks and not taking the hair out from the root or this will interfere with your results, avoid waxing, tweezing, or bleaching those areas for 4-6 weeks before the treatment. Also you are required to be clean shaven before your appointment on the area being treated.

What do I need to do after my treatment?

After the treatment we recommend that you do not bathe in hot water or apply any scented products to the areas treated. Do not sunbathe for 4 weeks after. Do not go swimming or excessive exercise for 48 hours after laser.

Will I look presentable after treatment?
There is usually some pinkness or redness in the treated area which goes away after a short time but in some cases, a little makeup is helpful to minimise redness, this must be mineral make up.

Laser for Men
Many clients of ours have moved over to laser from waxing and shaving, due to shaving leaving the skin irritated and only makes the hair coarse and waxing is a temporary removal that usually ends up in sore, irritated skin and ingrown hairs.

Laser prevents all the contra actions above and that is why it has becomes so popular.

The laser destroys the base of the hair follicle (the hair bulb) leaving the hair to fall out on its own, (usually two weeks after the laser session). Due to the laser energy directly going into the melanin which is your hair bulb the surrounding tissue which is your skin is left untouched.

So wether it’s those hairs on your cheek bones, or those stubborn neck hairs or even if you have just had enough of the torture of your back wax, come in for a free laser consultation.

Please note: We do not do intimate areas for men

THREAD VEIN REMOVAL – SCLEROTHERAPY

‘BANISH UNSIGHTLY VEINS’

A SAFE AND WELL ESTABLISHED RELIABLE TREATMENT.

WHAT TO EXPECT ?

A SOLUTION IS INJECTED WITH A VERY TINY NEEDLE, VERY SUPERFICIALLY INTO THE VEIN, TO SWELL AND BECOME STICKY. COMPRESSION IS THEN APPLIED TO CLOSE THE VEIN. OVER A PERIOD OF TIME THE VEIN WILL HEAL AND CLOSE UP.

More about Thread Vein...

What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a safe and well established treatment for thread veins on the legs. Although there are a number of alternative treatments, it remains the most reliably successful of them all.

A solution is injected with a very tiny needle, very superficially into the veins, causing the lining of the vein to swell and become sticky. Compression is then applied to close the veins. Over a period of time the vein will heal closed and fade away.

How many sessions do need?

The results achieved after one treatment vary considerably from one client to another. You should budget for up to 4 treatments 4 – 16 weeks apart and you can expect an improvement in their appearance of 60 – 80%. In rare cases the treatment has little or no effect. Results cannot be guaranteed.

Are there any risks?

Though safe, it is not entirely without risk. The two most common side effects are something called haemosiderin deposition and telangiectatic matting.

Aftercare
?

• Take a 10 minute walk immediately after treatment
• Wear your support hosiery day and night for 72 hours; at the end of the 72 hours you may take the stocking off and have a short cool shower or bath. Do not be alarmed that the thread veins look worse, this is normal at this stage.
• Thereafter, wear your support stocking during the day for 7 days; you may take them off at night.
• Avoid extremes of temperature for 14 days ie very hot baths, saunas, sun beds.
• Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks – pigmentation may take longer to fade.
• Avoid high impact exercise for 2 weeks.
• Avoid waxing of the legs for 4 weeks.
• Elevate your legs as much as possible for the first 2 weeks.
• If you are planning air travel discuss with your practitioner who will advise.
• Consider wearing support hosiery long term to minimise thread vein recurrence.
